A short talk from Dr Judith Wester, CEDAR Education CEO
The death of a companion pet can be quite devastating to those who have developed a special bond with their dog, cat or other pet. Deep feelings of grief are natural. However, some people will find it difficult to express their sadness, or console a person who has lost a pet. This talk from the death education expert, Dr Judith Wester, will cover coping with, consoling, and explaining pet death to others:
• Why does pet loss hurt so much?
• Seniors grieving the death of a pet
• Making the decision to euthanize a pet
• Explaining pet euthanasia to children
• Pet Cemeteries/Funerals
• Some coping strategies
• Should you get another pet?
Fees for this talk go to support the Life Lessons Death Education programme for young people. Your support is most appreciated.
